What This Sub Is

The topic of GetSuave is widespread, pertaining to building a naturally attractive, confident, fun, stylish lifestyle - think James Bond but without all the bullets:

• Social skills and charisma are central here: speaking to people without hesitation, making people feel special appreciated, and keeping your social life full of fun, fulfilling experiences. It starts with inner confidence and includes knowing how to handle rejection with grace.
• Attracting but not chasing the people you want. This sub is based on a simple premise: if you want a great partner, then you have to first be a great partner. And don’t “seduce.” Start from a place of high value and let the rest take care of itself.
• Networking and making connections is at the heart of being a suave person. Not only do you want to know the right people, but you want to be the Person To Know. You can start by hosting a regular party or group outing or back up and learn how to easily make new friends.
• Looks and style - because if you don’t take care of yourself and how you look, why should you expect to attract anyone of the same ilk? Fix your posture, learn the basics, and clean up well.
• Hobbies and exciting interests fill your life with new people, new experiences, and give you exciting stories to tell. See: Social Hobbies and Exciting Hobbies
• Taste in good things - good clothes, a well-stocked bar, a handy gadget or two - doesn’t mean indulging in consumerism. It means knowing the difference between quality and quantity, knowing how things can make your life easier
• Being a gracious host means thinking about everything from stocking your bar to handling the morning after a fun party.
• Knowing how to handle emergencies is the last piece: if you can be poised and relaxed in the most difficult situations because you’re already prepared, then your day-to-day life will be much easier by comparison.

What This Sub Is Not

• A place to find out how to seduce an individual. See Rule #2. If your post starts with “there’s this one girl” or “there’s this one guy,” you’re in the wrong place.
• A hand to hold. By all means, ask your questions, but don’t expect your lifestyle to change for the better unless you change your lifestyle for the better. Yes, the emphasis is on being charming and smooth, but that doesn’t mean you can avoid rejection and mistakes along the way. As long as your head is in the right place, you’ll get there.
• A place to discuss gender politics.

Subreddit Rules and Guidelines

1. Posts of all types (except Rule #2) are welcome so long as they are about building a fun, interesting, suave lifestyle and/or making yourself more naturally attractive. Questions, links, advice, pictures, memes, videos, blog links, and more are all welcome so long as they provide value (even if it’s just entertainment value).

2. Don’t ask the sub how to attract “this one girl.” If that’s all that’s on your mind, take it to /r/seduction or /r/dating_advice. This sub is about building a conscious lifestyle and any advice you seek should be along those lines.

3. Don’t send the mods PMs asking for advice related to the content of the sub. If you have questions for anyone in particular, post your questions to the sub itself and “username mention” anyone whose attention you want in particular. To do that, type a “/u/” in front of the username you want to call out, such as /u/champagnehouse

4. Posting, seeking, or sharing private information will result in an immediate ban. Outright misogyny and misandry are not allowed and will be taken on a case-by-case basis, with the potential for removed content and bans.

5. Mods reserve the right to remove content and ban users if their content is deemed excessively negative and detrimental to the sub’s constructive environment.
